Plastic Imaginaries: A Two-Day Creative Workshop with Kris Russo
Plastic need no introduction. It is a material that has become as ubiquitous as the ground we walk on and the water we drink. In this workshop, participants employed plastic as a medium for expressing internal and external dialogues and engage broader historical and current discussions on consumerism, waste, and processes of enchantment.
Kris Russo was an artist-in-residence at the Arthouse Foundation, where she created a new artistic project that examines our relationship with plastics through installation, collage and sculpture. Kris' work explores questions of identity and historical memory, focusing on the convergence of religion, technology and the environment in relation to the experience of dis/re-enchantment.
This workshop took place over two days, June 25th and June 27th, 10 AM-4 PM daily, at 16/16 (16 Kofi Abayomi Street, Victoria Island, Lagos).
